About the artist

Kelly Hood Production Designer for short film "WILK"

Kelly Hood is a passionate, multi-faceted filmmaker located in Chicago, IL. With professional experience in filmmaking, photography, and event design, Kelly brings a unique perspective and creative flair to every project.

Kelly graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2020 with a BFA in Production Design from the Cinema Arts & Science program. With ample experience acquired shortly thereafter, she joined Chicago's local 476 film union in January of 2022.

Her passion is rooted in fine arts and fabrication. She favors scenic painting, sculpting, modeling, miniature-making, and rendering. She has a thorough understanding for logistics and management of the art department. She learned these skills at the beginning of her career as an Art and Set Dec Coordinator on shows such as NBC's Chicago Med & Chicago PD, HBO's Somebody Somewhere, and the CW's 4400.

Kelly continues to seek personal growth and inspiration through learning new practices. She has developed interests for film photography, ceramics, oil painting, and stop motion by remaining a passionate hobbyist for all things design. Kelly hopes to continue to inspire and exchange skills with others through collaboration.

Kelly is currently pursuing her passion for Landscape Architecture and Ecological Restoration to further expand her professional horizons outside of the film industry and is open to new challenges and opportunities.
